On the playground with my nephews

The Story:
Playgrounds and coffee houses share a common secret. Both are filled with a joyful hum of background noise. Children head to the former and adults to the latter, usually in high spirits and full of anticipation. In that vibrant chatter, you can hear happy laughter, loud stories, and excited whispers. Even as a solitary visitor, spending just a little time there is enough to recharge with positive energy.

Artist’s Note:
Why are tractors or excavators so magical? And why is it better to be barefoot in the sandbox than in shoes? As children, we still know the answers; as adults, we struggle to recall them. But once, we knew too. Thinking about the answers to these simple questions is incredibly electrifying for me.

Why “Time Capsule”?
I am painting this series for my children, hoping they will pass them down through generations. I want these works to act as a visual diary of their ancestors’ lives 10 or even 100 years from now—a legacy that inspires them to seek out their own moments of awe.
