Maybe that’s the real lesson he carries: awe is not something that happens to you — it’s something you choose. And he chooses it every single time.

Artist’s Note:
I love hunting for tiny treasure-moments — a child skipping along, the setting sun in my eyes, the texture of a hundred-year-old wall beneath my fingers. That search for wonder is what drives my work. And somehow, this beloved cartoon character captures exactly that spirit.

What fascinates me about him is precisely that he divides people. Some find him too naive, others see pure genius — and he somehow bridges those two extremes. In doing so, he might just answer a universal question: and suddenly we realise that everything moves in circles.

Why “Time Capsule”?
I am painting this series for my children, hoping they will pass them down through generations. I want these works to act as a visual diary of their ancestors’ lives 10 or even 100 years from now—a legacy that inspires them to seek out their own moments of awe.
