"Let us breathe together with our traditions"

The Story:
Our traditions run through our blood, we can experience moments similar to those of our ancestors: biting into a delicious poppy seed brioche has been a joyful moment here in Hungary for centuries.

Artist's Note:
The inspiration for this painting came from a work by a Hungarian painter Adolf Fényes, titled Poppy Seed Cake. As I gazed at the painting, I realised that 100 years can sometimes feel like a fleeting moment — it could just as well happen to me right now: walking into a room like that and taking a bite of the poppy seed brioche. The length of time is unpredictable; it is the moments that must be lived.

Why “Time Capsule”?
I am painting this series for my children, hoping they will pass them down through generations. I want these works to act as a visual diary of their ancestors’ lives 10 or even 100 years from now—a legacy that inspires them to seek out their own moments of awe.
